Transmission Builder/ Technician - W Mayflower

Sun Auto Tire & Service (Sun Auto and Tire Works) is a leading provider of quality aftermarket automotive repair, maintenance, and tire services. Sun Auto Tire & Service encompasses over 500 retail locations throughout the United States. We are looking for a Transmission Builder/ Technician to join our team.

We are looking for a Transmission Builder with at least 5 years of experience in tearing down and rebuilding experience required. If you are looking to join a very clean and organized transmission center with minimal turnover and enjoy a team concept – we want to talk to you!

COMPENSATION: $30-38/ hour

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Disassembly and assembly of automatic transmissions
• Transmission tear down and diagnosis
• Parts pricing and ordering
• Transmission troubleshooting
• Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Possess current, valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tearing down and rebuilding transmission

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The Transmission Builder will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.

The Transmission Builder must be able to meet the following physical requirements:

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hear and speak
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
